The Miami Hurricanes have had their fair share of memorable moments, both good and bad, in the world of college football.
However, their recent game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets may go down as one of the most bizarre endings in football history.
Heading into the game, the Hurricanes were ranked No. 17 and were looking to continue their unbeaten streak.
With just 32 seconds left on the clock and a comfortable lead, all Miami needed to do was kneel out the clock on third-and-10.
It seemed like a simple and routine play that would secure the victory.
But instead of taking the safe option, the Hurricanes decided to run a play. And that’s where everything went wrong.
Running back Donald Chaney Jr. fumbled the ball, and it ended up in the hands of Georgia Tech.
The Yellow Jackets wasted no time and quickly advanced to the Miami 44-yard line, with just one second remaining.
All Miami had to do was take a knee and the game was over.
They instead handed it off to their RB. He fumbled.
Georgia Tech scored 32 seconds later with just 1 second left.

To everyone’s surprise, quarterback Haynes King threw a Hail Mary pass to Georgia Tech wide receiver Christian Leary, who caught the ball in the end zone.
GEORGIA TECH… MIRACLE.

It was evident that the team was shocked and disappointed by the turn of events.
