The Miami Dolphins have raced into a great position and could be considered favorites to take the AFC East title and push for a Superbowl appearance.
The key to the Dolphins charge this season is all out pace with the Miami team recording five of the fastest speeds by a ball carrier this season.
The have been ruthless on offense scoring 181 points in five games, including 70 against the hapless Broncos in week 3.
They have scored the most points in the NFL with the unbeaten 49ers in second on 167 points and the 5-0 eagles on 141 points.
They were devastatingly quick against the Giants over the weekend winning 31-16.
De’Von Achane had 11 carries and picked up 151 yards.
Tyreek Hill, Achane, Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Waddle are all speed merchants and are running defenses ragged.
Hill posted 21.66 mph in Miami week 1 win against the Chargers, while Achane posted 21.93 mph against the Broncos.
Five of the fastest carry speeds in the league belong to the Dolphins, and defenses will need to find a way to stop the pace.
The 21.62 mph by Waddle by Mostert in week 2’s win over the Patriots is the third fastest time of the season, behind his teammates.
Hill sits in fourth spot but believes he is the quickest of the fab five.
“De’Von Achane, he’s fast. But I’m 9.98 fast. I’m Triple Crown high school fast. Junior Olympic fast. I’m Mr. US – no let me stop,” Hill said earlier in the season.
“Don’t let me keep going. But De’Von’s fast though. I would say he’s like the third-fastest on this team, though.”
There is competition at the Dolphins and when it comes to speed opposing players will need to bring the A games, pick the right routes and tackle the ball carrier early. Otherwise, poof, they gone.
