In trending news an anonymous NFL executive believes New York Jets wide receiver Mecole Hardman could soon be back at the Chiefs.
For Hardman the move to New York can be summed up in one cliche, “This ain’t Kansas anymore”.
The Chiefs are looking to defend their Superbowl crown and the Jets WR is reportedly on their radar.
Hardman spent the greater part of his professional career at the Chiefs before making a move to the Big Apple this season. But it seems the ‘Apple’ is getting sour with the wide receiver hardly seeing any game time.
The Jets are on an upward trajectory, but it looks like Hardman is not cutting the mustard.
The Chiefs, 4-1 will be looking to strengthen their Patrick Mahomes led offense, and the Georgia Bulldogs could be heading back to where it all started, signing for the Chiefs as the 56th overall pick in the 2019 draft.
The Jets started the season as potential playoff contenders, with Aaron Rodgers pulling the strings and Hardman running the right routes but it all fell to pieces when Rodgers snapped his Achilles on well, the first ahem snap of season.
Zach Wilson is starting to find his range as the starting QB at the Jets, but it seems there is not much space for Hardman.
But Kansas better act fast as the Panthers are also reportedly in the hunt for his services.
Hardman has 2,088 receiving yards in his career and will be desperate to add to that total quickly and a move away makes sense.
The Jets signed Hardman as a free agent recently but will be looking to cash in, and the Chicago Bears, Vikings, Texans and Ravens also interesting options.
The Jets take on the undefeated eagles in week 6.
