“He’s like a sponge. He’s asking for feedback. He’s getting coached hard,” Defensive Coordinator of the Eagles on Rookie Jalen Carter

The Eagles are unbeaten this season and it is largely due to a solid defense led by rookie defensive tackle Jalen Carter.

The season is only reaching week 6 and already he is being touted as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

“I don’t know if it’s a surprise, but it’s impressive how much he loves football,” defensive coordinator Sean Desai told reporters.

“He’s like a sponge. He’s asking for feedback. He’s getting coached hard,” he added.

“And even from his peers, he’s taking a lot of coaching from his peers, and whoever he can feel like he can get information from, a lot of guys are touching him”.

The Eagles will look to make it six from six when they take on the improving Jets this weekend. They are not perfect on defense going for 101 points against in five games, at a little over 20 points per game, shipping 31 in week 4 against the Commanders.

The Eagles, alongside the San Francisco 49ers are early season favorites to meet in the Superbowl and the defensive side, with Jordan Davis, Fletcher Cox and company will look to play their part.

They will look to shutout the Jets relatively new quarterback Zach Wilson.
