Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson will not be able to practice for the third consecutive day due to a concussion and as a result, has been ruled out for Week 3.
This means that Gardner Minshew will be starting for the Colts against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. This information was reported by NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

During Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, Richardson scored a rushing touchdown on each of the Colts’ first two drives.
However, he was ruled out in the second quarter after suffering a concussion. It is believed that he sustained the concussion when his head hit the turf during his second touchdown run.
Richardson was responsible for self-reporting his symptoms, and as a result, was immediately taken out of the game. He has not been on the field since.
Taking over in Week 2, Minshew assisted in leading the Colts to victory. The team can have confidence in Minshew as he has previous experience playing under head coach Shane Steichen.
In fact, Minshew was Steichen’s backup in Philadelphia for the past two seasons when Steichen served as offensive coordinator.
Minshew is known for his ability to handle pressure and maintain the offense’s rhythm. According to NFL Research, he currently holds the fifth-best touchdown-to-interception ratio in the NFL, with a minimum of 500 pass attempts.
While the Colts will miss Richardson’s dynamic skills, they will benefit from having a more experienced quarterback leading the offense in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens.
