This week, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos on Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football. This is a matchup of two teams trending in different directions, with the Chiefs winning four of their first five games in 2023 while the Broncos have lost four of their first five games to start the season.

Not to mention, the Chiefs have won the last 15 meetings between these two teams dating back to 2015, when Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was still playing college football at Texas Tech. Since becoming a starter in the NFL, Mahomes has yet to lose to the Broncos. He is 11-0 in his career, which ties the record for the longest win streak against a single opponent to begin a career by a starting quarterback.

Despite dominating the Broncos throughout his NFL career, Mahomes made it clear during his press conference that the Broncos are not a team that can be taken lightly ahead of their matchup on Thursday Night Football: “When you play a team like the Broncos… there’s just another level of intensity, so I’m not worried about necessarily a streak or anything like that.”

“That’s the thing with me, it’s about the streak, it’s about going out there and finding a way to win against a division opponent in a tough-fought battle,” Mahomes added.

It’s clear that Mahomes and the Chiefs are doing their best to remain focused on their goal of competing at the highest level in an attempt to win as many games as they can, regardless of the opponent.
