Mr. Beast coaxes Tom Brady to fake a second retirement to boost podcast popularity

In a recent episode of the SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go!” with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray, the legendary quarterback found himself in a lighthearted exchange with YouTube sensation Mr. Beast.

During the episode, Mr. Beast, playfully suggested that Brady stage a second retirement as a way to boost the podcast’s popularity.

Brady couldn’t help but acknowledge the cleverness of the promotional pitch, calling it “smart.”

However, he made it crystal clear that such a stunt wasn’t on the horizon, firmly stating, “I am NOT coming out of retirement.”

Brady went on to humorously explain why he couldn’t entertain the idea, saying:

“I can’t tease that. My parents would call, my kids would call. They would kill me. I wouldn’t be around by tonight.”

It was all in good fun, with Brady clearly enjoying the banter.

This exchange comes in the wake of Tom Brady’s second retirement announcement, which occurred in February 2023.

After an illustrious career spanning 23 seasons in the NFL, Brady shared his decision via social media, declaring, “I’m retiring. For good.”

Reflecting on his previous retirement process, Brady continued:

“I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first.”

He added, “It won’t be long-winded. You only get one super emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year.”

Tom Brady’s journey in the NFL has been nothing short of remarkable.

Following his selection as the 199th overall pick by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft, he quickly ascended to the role of starting quarterback in his second season, playing a pivotal role in the team’s victory in Super Bowl XXXVI. As the years passed, Brady led the Patriots to an impressive array of achievements, which encompassed 17 division titles, 13 appearances in the AFC Championship Game, nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl victories.

In early 2020, Brady made a significant move to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he continued to etch his name in NFL history by securing victory in Super Bowl LV.
