There has been plenty of roster movement coming out of the Colts camp, with starting QB Anthony Richardson being placed on the injured reserve list after suffering a shoulder injury.
Richardson will miss the next four games at a minimum.
The Colts do have a solid backup in veteran Gardner Minshew as the 3-2 Indianapolis team look to improve their record and take charge of the AFC South Division.
Head coach Shane Steichen said of Richardson’s injury to the AC, “It’s tough when a guy gets dinged up like (Richardson’s) been dinged up.
“He’s obviously a very, very talented player, and it’s tough. But we have a lot of faith in Gardner, too, to step in and go operate the way he’s been doing,” he added.
Minshew has done a great job in the three games he has been part of including a week 2 start against the Vikings, with all three of the Indianapolis wins ending with him finishing the game.
The Colts signed quarterback Kellen Mond to the practice squad along with wide receiver Anthony Miller.
WR Juwann Winfree has been moved up to the 53-man roster.
They also elevated guard Ike Boettger to the match day squad.
Boettger has appeared in two games for the Colts this season after five years at the Buffalo Bills.
The Colts next take on divisional rivals the Jaguars (3-2) at the EverBank Stadium in week 6.
