Chris Russo is a well-known sports radio host who has made a career out of speaking into a microphone. However, despite his success, he often struggles to correctly pronounce the names and terms he is supposed to discuss.
Recently, during an interview with Peter King on his SiriusXM Radio show, Russo attempted to pronounce the name of Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus, only to come up with hilarious results.

While discussing potential coaching changes in the NFL, Russo stumbled over Eberflus’ name, referring to him as “Albrus.” However, he quickly corrected himself by adding “the Bear coach” to avoid confusion.

This is not the first time Russo has struggled with pronunciations. Last month, he mispronounced the name of Mad Dog Sports Radio’s morning show host, Damon Amendolara, despite knowing him for 25 years.
He has also had trouble with names like Saquon Barkley, Chris Olave, and terms like Qatar and the Washington Commanders throughout his career.
While some sports media executives may prefer a host with better pronunciation skills, Russo has managed to turn his unique accent into part of his appeal.
His former radio partner, Mike Francesa, often took a different approach by using simple descriptions rather than attempting to pronounce difficult names.
In the world of sports, where names can be complex and unfamiliar, Russo’s occasional flubs have become endearing to his listeners.
