Will College GameDay address the elephant in the room when the Huskies take on the Ducks this weekend?

College GameDay will make the trip the pacific Northwest for a final Pac-12 showdown between the Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies and they will have to address the elephant in the room.

Actually, there is a trunk of elephants that need to be brought up, but probably won’t, like the role media dollars has played in the demise of the Pac-12, and the formation of a new Big Ten.

This could be the last time Game Day makes an appearance in the region as a Pac-12 campus as the seventh ranked Huskies entertain the eighth ranked Duck.

Then there are the controversial comments made by Pat McAfee and his feud with the Washington fans after telling the colleges to “shut their mouth”.

The brash host McAfee joked last week that the state of Washington has no love lost for him.

You don’t need Sherlock Holmes to work that out.

It’s a case of GameDay saying something about the Pac-12 and then being accused of hypocrisy or saying nothing and be accused of apathy.

College football as we know it will take on a new divisional form, similar to the NFL, and while that is not the worst thing, the way it has been done has irked traditionalists and fans alike.
