New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has officially confirmed that Mac Jones will remain the team’s starting quarterback.
This decision comes as the Patriots prepare to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6 of the NFL season.
Despite a rocky start to the season, Jones has shown promise and will continue to lead the team on the field.
“Yeah, we’re not making any changes,” said Belichick, who pulled Jones from the past two games.

Jones, now in his third year, has completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,008 yards, five touchdowns, and six interceptions in the five games he has started this season.
While he has had moments of success, he has also struggled in some games, particularly in the team’s losses to the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints.
In those two losses, Jones threw a total of four interceptions and failed to throw a single touchdown pass.
As a result, backup quarterback Bailey Zappe took over for Jones in both games.
However, Zappe was unable to turn things around, completing just 7-of-18 passes for 79 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Jones was a first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft and even earned a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie.
However, his numbers have declined in the 2022 season, with 7,806 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions in his 36 starts, resulting in a 17-19 record.
