In a battle to see which team will advance to the National League Championship Series, we have two divisional rivals going at it. Given the fact that these teams are no strangers to facing one another, it makes for an exciting and intense playoff atmosphere. During Game 3 of the series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves, it was Phillies fans who had the last laugh, and they relished the moment.

Philadelphia is regarded as one of the most passionate sports cities and fanbases in the country. It is a hostile environment for any opponent that has to play there, especially a divisional counterpart such as the Braves. With that said, the Phillies fanbase let the Braves have it during the Phillies massive 10-2 Game 3 victory.

Braves fans have become known for their famous “Tomahawk chop” celebration and the Phillies and their fans are no strangers to seeing the celebration. Except in Game 3, the Braves or their fans didn’t have much reason to celebrate, so the Phillies fans decided to do it for them.

During the fifth inning, when the Phillies held a 7-1 lead in the game, Phillies fans all around Citizens Bank Park began doing the “Tomahawk chop,” to taunt Braves fans. It’s clear that these two teams are not very fond of one another and neither are their fans. Heated rivalries and spirited battles are what the MLB playoffs are all about and Phillies fans are personifying that notion by poking fun at their rivals.
