Byeong Hun An (Ben An) has found himself in a tough spot regarding his recent suspension from the PGA Tour. The 32-year-old golfer from South Korea has been sidelined for three months due to a violation of the PGA Tour’s Anti-Doping Policy.

The PGA Tour disclosed on Wednesday that An tested positive for a substance prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which was found in a cough medicine that’s available over the counter in his home country of Korea.

An’s suspension officially started on August 31, which means he’ll be eligible to make his return to competitive play on December 1. An’s handling of the situation has been in accordance with the Tour’s guidelines, and he has accepted his suspension. The Tour, as per its policy, has stated that there will be no further comments on this matter at this time.

Ben An is a golfer with a respectable record, having previously won the U.S. Amateur and secured victories on the DP World Tour. However, he is still in pursuit of his first PGA Tour title. Despite losing his tour card after the 2020-2021 season, he managed to secure a win on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2022 and even made it to the BMW Championship, one of the three FedEx Cup events this season. Currently ranked 44th in the FedEx Cup standings, he’s already exempt for all the significant events in 2024.
