“I know I’m a good teammate” – Chase Claypool out to prove himself as a positive locker room presence in Miami after Chicago ouster

After a tumultuous stint with the Chicago Bears, wide receiver Chase Claypool is ready for a fresh start with the Miami Dolphins. Claypool was visibly and audibly frustrated with his role in Chicago, which created problems in the locker room to the point that the Bears asked him to stay away from the team until they found him a new home. Now, he has a chance to re-establish himself with the Dolphins after being traded.

Despite being in an already-crowded offense consisting of two of the most dynamic wide receivers in the NFL )Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle), Claypool and the Dolphins seem to both be happy with his landing spot. When reporters asked Waddle how he is taking a liking to his new teammate, Waddle stated: “I told him, he looks like a freaking machine moving out there.”

At 6-foot-4, Claypool is a big-bodied receiver who also possesses the speed to blow by defenders when given the chance. Now, he will have a chance to prove it on an offense that is predicated on speed while also having an opportunity to prove he didn’t deserve the slander thrown his way regarding his locker room presence.

“I know I’m a good teammate. I don’t have to do anything extra to like – don’t have to do too much to try and prove that,” Claypool stated when asked to speak on the matter. “…I’m excited about being around a new group of guys and showing them what I can do.”

Claypool wasn’t able to suit up for his Dolphins debut in Week 5 due to being traded in the middle of the week but should have an opportunity to do so in Week 6 when the Dolphins face the Carolina Panthers.
