Max Scherzer, a prominent figure in the MLB despite his many years in the game, is making a comeback for the Texas Rangers. The three-time Cy Young Award winner had been sidelined due to an injury, last pitching on September 12. Now, at 39 years old, he"s been gradually working his way back, hoping to contribute to the Rangers" quest for their first-ever World Series title.
Following his performance in a simulated game on Thursday, Scherzer has been steadily showing positive progress. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy is optimistic about Scherzer"s potential appearance in the highly anticipated match against the Houston Astros. But, true to Scherzer"s personality, when asked about his simulated game by Ranger beat writer Evan Grant, the veteran pitcher responded in a humorous and typical Scherzer way.
Scherzer feels good. Asked him if there was more life on his fastball Wednesday.
"It was a weird sim game; I don’t usually pitch hungover."

Sounds like everybody pretty much in agreement he’s good to go for ALCS. Rosters must be set by Sunday 10am CT

The Rangers have a crucial decision to make regarding Scherzer"s return to their rotation or bullpen. Time is of the essence since, as Grant points out, the deadline to select rosters for the American League Championship Series is Sunday. Bochy and his team will need to make their decision relatively quickly.
