Clear pass interference not flagged as Bills defeat Giants in controversial fashion

The Giants can feel hard done by in their tense 9-14 loss to the Bills, who pushed the limits of legality regarding pass interference.

They were called out once for the tactic by back judge Brad Freeman, who threw a flag the first time the Bills were caught employing this tactic, but he failed to pick a similar match-turning incident later in the game.

With time running out the Giants had one more chance to win the game, when quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw the ball towards the end zone, and former Raiders tight end Darren Waller.

Replays show Bills defender taking Johnson clearly grabbing Waller’s jersey as he went for the catch, and the win.

Classic case of pass interference and a nervous non-call by Freeman.

The Giants cannot catch a break, and instead of posting a sensational win, they are now 1-5 and staring down the barrel of a long losing season.

The Bills have been praised in some quarters for picking up on the inconsistency and keeping on with the pass interference. Smart football is winning football.

The Bills are second in the AFC East Conference with a 4-2 record, trailing the Dolphins (5-1) while the Giants are last in the NFC East Division.
