The Philadelphia Eagles entered their 4:25 p.m. kickoff versus the New York Jets as the last undefeated team in the NFL after the Cleveland Browns handed the San Francisco 49ers their first loss of the season. However, that didn’t last for long. The Jets overcame a 14-3 deficit to defeat the Eagles thrillingly. After the game, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was the first to admit that it was a difficult pill to swallow.

“It starts with me and how I lead that charge… It’s a tough one, for sure, but it’s an opportunity for us to grow. And these moments build a ton of character,” Hurts told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Hurts had his worst game of the season and one of the worst games of his young career in the Week 6 loss to the Jets. He completed 28 of his 45 pass attempts for 280 yards, adding a touchdown to go with a career-high three interceptions. Additionally, Hurts had eight carries for 47 yards and a touchdown through the ground.

Through six games in 2023, Hurts has thrown more interceptions (7) than he did all of last season (6). This is a trend that Hurts and the Eagles will look to correct before their Week 7 matchup with the 5-1 Miami Dolphins in what can be viewed as a potential Super Bowl preview.
