“wasn’t trying to do anything bad,” Ravens Safety Kyle Hamilton Acknowledges Mistake in Postgame Comments

The Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans faced off in London at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of the NFL’s International Series in Week 6. The Ravens prevailed, winning 24-16 led by quarterback Lamar Jackson in his international debut. Playing internationally has become an experience for both the fans and the players. However, Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton’s experience may not have ended the way he’d hoped.

Hamilton was ejected during the latter stages of the game for a helmet-to-helmet hit he made on Titans wide receiver Chris Moore. Moore was visibly shaken up after the hit and struggling to maintain his balance after standing up before being sent to the locker room to be further evaluated for a potential concussion.

After the game, Hamilton addressed the matter publicly and apologized for his actions, admitting that he let his emotions get the best of him in the “Heat of the moment.” He “wasn’t trying to do anything bad,” and added that if he had the opportunity to take it back, he would.

It remains to be seen if the NFL will discipline Hamilton any further than the in-game ejection. While it is rare to see a player be suspended for similar plays, Hamilton could be looking at a hefty fine. However, if the NFL were to suspend Hamilton, any time he’s forced to miss would be detrimental to a Ravens secondary that saw safety Marcus Williams suffer a hamstring injury.
