“In general, for guys not named Ja’Marr Chase” Bengals OC Brian Callahan on how the Team Needs to Be Better, despite win over Seahawks

The Cincinnati Bengals were victorious in their game against the Seattle Seahawks; however, the victory came with a lopsided gain. The Bengals versus Seahawks saw the Bengals score more points and clinch the game as the score became 17-13.

The Bengals currently stand in the 2023 NFL season with three losses and three wins. However, even in the wake of this win, the Cincinnati Bengals rank low in a number of important offensive statistics.

According to ESPN, Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan was forthright about the squad’s lack of performance.

Callahan said, “We have to be better than we’ve been,”

“And I think we will be. But sometimes there’s a time and a place to tell the truth. And that’s the truth at this point.”

According to Mike Petraglia, Callahan also expressed, “There needs to be more production on offense, in general, for guys not named Ja’Marr Chase.”

“End of the day, we’re not scoring enough. We’re not producing enough.”

Callahan further stated, “I was on my couch last night watching my iPad, just fuming.” “Everyone had their moment in the barrel today. Nice to win but we didn’t play well enough offensively to win that game.”

After scoring points on their first two possessions against the Seattle Seahawks, the Cincinnati Bengals went scoreless the rest of the way.

Burrow has also missed a number of throws, and while his calf ailment does not appear to be limiting him at this stage, unfortunately, his athleticism appears to be uncommonly shaky in this game.

Burrow, regarding the game, said, “We were horrible in the second half,”

“We just have to be able to put together a complete game.”

The head coach, Zac Taylor, also expressed what needs to be done in order to improve, “Whether it’s explosive passes, explosive runs, more runs, less runs, more passes — it doesn’t matter,”

“We just have to get the ball in the end zone.”

Callahan further expressed, “There’s an accountability factor, where nobody — coaching, playing — has met our standard,”

“And our standard’s high. And it should be because we’re capable of being really good. And thus far, we haven’t been.”

“There’s been a lot of reasons for that. Ultimately, nobody cares.”

“Sometimes when you play poorly, you just take a minute and reflect and get away and relax for a second and come back with a clear vision of what it needs to look like moving forward,”

“And I think we will.”
