It has been over a month since New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles just four snaps into his debut as a member of the franchise. Hopes were high for the Jets and their fanbase after the acquisition of Rodgers, with many viewing the Jets as a potential Super Bowl contender. The hope may still be there, as the team is 3-3 sans Rodgers while he tries to pull off a miraculous return to the field.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh has full belief that if his quarterback says he is going to return to the field, he will act on his word. He is not one to doubt his future Hall of Fame quarterback and made it known on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football that doubt will only motivate Rodgers further.
"I think he’s [Rodgers] fueled by doubt – I don’t think, I know – he’s fueled by doubt. The more you doubt him, the more fuel he has," Saleh stated.
This comes after Rodgers was spotted on the field at MetLife Stadium throwing a football without crutches or a walking boot. While that does not suggest he is anywhere near ready to return to NFL action, it is a major step in the right direction and encouraging for Jets fans to see.
Rodgers recently stated, "Give me your doubts… and then watch what I do." Rodgers is eager to silence any critics and naysayers who tell him he can’t return from his Achilles injury.
