Pat McAfee seems to have the full support of his ESPN colleagues, as his partnership with quarterback superstar Aaron Rodgers has garnered enough attention.

However, Stephen A. Smith came forward and confronted the issue straight on First Take to inform McAfee that anyone who is having trouble with his professional relationship with Rodgers can “Kiss his ass. Twice.”
Smith said, “Pat McAfee, I want to veer left for a quick second here,”
“Play this sound bite when you and Aaron Rodgers are on the air together today. I want you to tell the public out there who’s been critical and questioning your relationship to kiss your ass. They wish they had the relationship, okay?”
Smith further stated, “Tell them to kiss your ass, twice,”
“That’s right, quote Stephen A., okay? It’s ridiculous. Anybody in this business knows, that all of us, anytime you can have a relationship with an elite player who is unapologetic about the commentary he provides, all of us would want those relationships. Props to you for having it, and the hell with all those naysayers. I’m saying that! Pat McAfee’s not saying that, I’m saying it. Okay? So make sure you quote me on that.”
The conversation has come up due to the hordes of Aaron Rodgers and McAfee detractors on online forums who enjoyed taking advantage of the chance to make fun of their collaboration after seeing a headline.
Stephen A. Smith has now extended an invitation to McAfee’s detractors by stating his opinions in a very straightforward manner.
Smith is legitimate in saying that many sports announcers and personalities related to media and sports would be suspicious of McAfee’s relationship with Aaron Rodgers due to the amount of attention it attracts. However, McAfee sounded irritated by the criticism of the partnership last week.
