Shaquille O’Neal is already making significant moves at Reebok in his new role as the president of basketball, as he secures the NIL signing of Angel Reese, a basketball star from Louisiana State University.

In his capacity, O’Neal is responsible for establishing partnerships with athletes and organizations, as well as supporting Reebok’s long-term strategy. He joins forces with another former NBA legend, Allen Iverson, who serves as Reebok’s vice president of basketball.

“For my first appointment in this role, it had to be the GOAT,” O’Neal shared, per the outlet. “There is no one making a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese.” Said O’Neal.

O’Neal emphasized the importance of focusing on products, players, and the community, with a commitment to doing things in a distinctive way. He aims to harness Reebok’s heritage and expertise in sports products to connect with today’s youth while also engaging at the grassroots level in the community. The goal is to usher in a new generation of players with authenticity and passion, often referred to as the “it” factor, who can leave their mark on the brand and make it relevant to a whole new generation.

Wasting no time in his new role, O’Neal announced the signing of Angel Reese, a fellow LSU Tiger, to an NIL deal with Reebok, marking a significant milestone as the company’s first major NIL signing. O’Neal expressed his admiration for Angel Reese’s impact on the game and her ability to shake up the space, much like Reebok has done throughout its history.

As part of the Reebok family, Angel Reese will be featured in Reebok campaigns and collaborate with the product team. Additionally, Reebok plans to support the Angel C. Reese Foundation.

Angel Reese herself expressed her honor in working with Shaq and a brand she has admired since her childhood. She sees it as an opportunity to extend Reebok’s legacy to a new generation, inspiring people to explore and express themselves unapologetically while looking and feeling good. Fans can anticipate the release of Angel Reese’s Reebok collection in 2024
