Unfortunately, emotions can fandom can get the best of people. It is only natural that opposing fans will disagree with one another during sporting events, but why must it resort to violence? Per Steve Henson of the Los Angeles Times, multiple fights broke out during the Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers. How will the NFL address this matter?
It seems as though a new fight video emerges weekly in at least one NFL stadium. For whatever reason, it seems as though fans are more riled up than ever and it is leading to chaos. People who attend games to watch their favorite football team play are left with injuries and sometimes even arrested for their actions. Attending NFL games is becoming inherently risky – when will the league step in and try to fix this?
This is unacceptable behavior. Adults who bring children to NFL games must be extra cautious when traveling through a stadium and avoid any potential controversy. Passionate fans must keep in mind that there could be someone who doesn’t agree with their stance and is prepared to fight about it.
With thousands of fans crowding into an NFL stadium and consuming copious amounts of alcohol, this is always going to be a possibility. But that doesn’t excuse the NFL from not acting and trying to resolve the matter. Do stadiums need to stop serving alcohol at venues? Alternatively, should stadiums limit how much alcohol a fan can consume in the stadium? What will it take to put an end to this?
