Transfer Deadline day approaches: Will the Chiefs get a new WR, will Spencer leave the Titans?

Every season calls have been made to move the October deadline, but the reality is that teams wanting to reshuffle rosters are in a race for time.

The Halloween trade deadline is an opportunity for losing teams to ship some flotsam and bring in some fresh legs.

The Detroit Lions proved the value of the deadline in 2022, when they were 1-6 at the end of October, before using their chips.

They went on a run, nearly qualified for the playoffs and this season are off to a 5-1 flyer.

The Chicago Bears are the obvious losers going into week 7, sitting last in the league and looking to unload some dead weight.

Even defending Superbowl champions are tempted and there is talk of the Kansas City Chiefs looking for a wide receiver.

There is also speculation as to whether the Titans will deal Derrick Henry.

The Panthers could unload edge rusher, Brian Burns, while the Commanders could see Chase Young on his way out.

The Jets could offload Carl Lawson, and with the deepest edge rusher squad, he could be on his bike.

The Broncos have been shipping points and losses and could trade the WR duo of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton. The Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow has potential bidders, and Kendrick Bourne could be shown the ultimatum at the Patriots.

This is the time of season where the front office can flex their skills, apart from the draft of course.

Last season there were 19 in-season trades so there will be blood.

Jeff Wilson JR went to the Dolphins from the 49ers last season while Calvin ridley was shipped off to the Jaguars from the Falcons.

Almost every coach is tempted and while the best players are already signed up there is always an opportunity it to shore up a leak.

With no unbeaten teams left, and the Panthers winless there will be opportunities aplenty.
