Despite being in the MLB since 2002, pitcher Fernando Rodney hasn’t aged one bit. At 46 years old, the free agent Dominican-American pitcher is pitching on the Dominican Winter League’s Opening Day, and fans were quick to point out that he still looks exactly the way he did in 2002.

“Bro has looked the same my whole life,” said an X (formerly known as Twitter) user who goes by the alias @jasonfein0.

Rodney is proving that age is only a number. Not only does he currently resemble the way he looked at 25 years of age, but he is also still able to play baseball at a high level even though he is 46 years old.

Despite last playing in 2019, Rodney was signed by the Houston Astros in July of 2020. Shortly thereafter, he was released in September 2020 and has since been a free agent.

Even if he doesn’t get another opportunity, he had a decorated 17-year career in the MLB. Rodney has three All-Star appearances to his name as well as a World Series ring, which he won in 2019 with the Washington Nationals.

In 2012, Rodney won the American League Comeback Player of the Year Award after seizing control of the role of being the closer for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Throughout his career, Rodney played for the Rays, Nationals, Detroit Tigers, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, and Miami Marlins.
