Former undisputed lightweight champion Charles Oliveira has expressed his interest in a potential bout with former two-division titleholder Conor McGregor. Oliveira, who currently holds the number one ranking among lightweight contenders and is a former divisional champion, is mapping out his return to the octagon after having to withdraw from UFC 294, which was scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

“choose the weight. say where and i"ll be there. Just send the contract and we"ll sign it. That"s the fight.": said Charles Oliveira.

His planned opponent for UFC 294 was the incumbent lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, setting the stage for a highly anticipated title re-match. Unfortunately, just ten days before this scheduled bout with the Russian champion, Oliveira was forced to pull out from the event"s headline fight. This unfortunate turn of events occurred when Oliveira sustained a significant cut above his right eyebrow during the final sparring session of his training camp for UFC 294.
