I’m one of those guys that can be paid at a high level” Bears’ Johnson Celebrates Touchdown with Money Rain, Demands Contract Extension

On Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders tasted defeat at the hands of the Chicago Bears. The concluding score was 30-12 and now the Raiders stand in the season with 3-4 and the Bears are at 2-5.

Jaylon Johnson, the Bears cornerback, intercepted a pass from Brian Hoyer that was meant for Davante Adams and ran 39 yards, concluding the game-winning touchdown.

When the cornerback reached the touchdown point, he removed his helmet while locating a camera and once he did, he celebrated by using a ubiquitous sign, making fictitious money rain.

Johnson is currently in the final year of his rookie contract and he still hasn’t been given a contract extension by the Bears. He was later also asked about the reason for his touchdown celebration and why he celebrated in that way.

According to Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Chicago and Pro Football Talk, “You damn right,”

“100 percent. I’ve been wanting to get to the table. At the end of the day, I know who I am, and I know I can play this game at a high level. I feel like I deserve to be paid like that.”

Johnson recorded another interception in the game against the Raiders, and he also shared that if the Chicago Bears did not extend him the deal he deserved, he would look for other places.

The cornerback further said, “I’m taking that attitude to any team,”

“Any and everybody in the NFL. It’s with the Bears, then I’ll do that. If it’s with anybody else, for sure. I’m one of those guys that can be paid at a high level.”

Johnson has recorded 34 career passes defended, and the current game concludes with two interceptions, fifteen tackles, three passes defended, and a forced fumble.
