“They Can’t Do It Like We Can” Eagles’ ‘Tush Push’ Play Proves to be Unstoppable, Coach Sirianni Disputes Banning It

The Philadelphia Eagles have gained widespread attention for their successful execution of a play dubbed the “Tush Push” or “Brotherly Shove.”

This quarterback sneak has proven to be an unstoppable force, leaving opponents struggling to counter its effectiveness.

Many have debated whether the NFL should ban this play, but Eagles coach Nick Sirianni disputes the notion, emphasizing that it is not about banning success but rather acknowledging the skill and advantage it brings to his team.

No, they can’t — as evidenced by others getting stuffed or hurt weekly attempting to pull off the “Brotherly Shove” or “Tush Push” or whatever you want to call the unstoppable quarterback sneak the Eagles have perfected. “So, I’m making my plug right there,” Sirianni continued. “Like, don’t ban this play. Like, if everyone could do it, everybody would. Where is the camera? If everybody could do it, everybody would do it.”

During a recent game against the Miami Dolphins, the Eagles found themselves in a crucial situation. Holding a seven-point lead, the Dolphins forced a fourth-and-1 at the Eagles’ 26-yard line.

In most cases, teams would opt to punt in such scenarios instead of risking a turnover near the opponent’s scoring position. However, Sirianni chose a different path.

Initially signaling for a punt, Sirianni then called a timeout, reevaluated the situation, and trusted his offense to execute the “Tush Push” play.

The sneak worked flawlessly, earning the Eagles a fresh set of downs.

Building on their earlier success, the Eagles faced another fourth-and-1 situation at the 37-yard line.

Unhesitant this time, Sirianni dialed up the “Tush Push” once again, ensuring the continuation of their drive.

Several plays later, thanks to quarterback Jalen Hurts’ connection with A.J. Brown, the Eagles sealed the game with a touchdown from Kenneth Gainwell.
