“I could have changed the game, I need to do that with the kind of player I’m supposed to be,” 49ers Nick Bosa disappointed after Viking loss

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa is unhappy with his team’s defensive performance in their surprise 17-22 loss to the Vikings.

Minnesota has quarterback Nick Cousins and his offensive protectors to thank as the QB threw 45 passes without getting sacked, the tied best of the season so far.

“I’m not sure how it went for the other three guys. I can only focus on myself and there were definitely a couple opportunities there where I could have changed the game, I need to do that with the kind of player I’m supposed to be,” Bosa said.

The defensive guru believes the 49ers were poor, and that in this league any team can punish a highly rated team at any stage of the campaign.

good as we think we are, every single week it’s the NFL. And if one guy is off, then they’re going to make a play. Kirk Cousins is a really good quarterback. He was making some really good checks against our looks.”

San Francisco are now 5-2 and do not look like the best team in the NFL, with the Eagles and the defending champions the Chiefs at 6-1 looking a better bet for a Superbowl run.

The 49ers have another tricky encounter against the Bengals in week 8 while the Vikings travel to the Packers.

The San Francisco team will face stiff completion from other 5-2 teams such as the Ravens, Lions, Dolphins and Jaguars.
