In a scathing post-game rant, Erica Donald, the wife of Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald, minced no words as she called for punitive measures against NFL referees following the controversial loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Rams fell to the Steelers with a final score of 24-17 in front of their home crowd at SoFi Stadium, marking their fourth loss of the season.

“Refs need to be fined for poor play calls. This is getting out of hand. Maybe if they start having consequences, they’ll officiate better… about every game I’ve seen this season has had at least one horrible call. In some cases, it’s changed the trajectory of the game,” Erica Donald proclaimed in a fiery tirade.

The controversial call in question occurred in the waning moments of the game.

With only 2 minutes and 24 seconds left on the clock, and the Rams trailing 24-17, the Steelers faced a pivotal fourth-and-1 situation.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Kenny Pickett, attempted a sneak, and it appeared he came up short.

Nonetheless, the referees awarded the Steelers a first down, effectively ending the game.

While the Rams, under the guidance of coach Sean McVay, undoubtedly played a part in their own downfall by mismanaging their timeouts, McVay’s inability to challenge the spot due to the lack of timeouts was exacerbated by the blatant error in officiating.

The controversial call left fans, players, and coaches baffled, as the legitimacy of the decision came into question.

With this loss behind them, the Rams must regroup swiftly, as they face a daunting challenge next week when they take on the Dallas Cowboys.

Kickoff for this high-stakes matchup is slated for 10 a.m. PT, with the game set to be broadcast on FOX.
