The New York Jets will welcome any cash windfall, and to be honest who wouldn"t?
Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers slashed his compensation over the next two years by a whopping $37 million, giving the Jets owner Woody Johnson some extra cash to play with.
The cash back bonanza will not trickle back to the fans as the team announced increased ticket prices for the 2024 season.
The average hike will be 10%.
The Jets are also taking the unusual step of allowing buyers to lock in their tickets early, guaranteeing sales in case Rodgers does not play next year.
Why would Rodgers be so kind, well he is looking for a slice if equity down the line, and so the rich get richer.
“I thought it was important they knew how committed I was," Rodgers said recently.
“And in my conversations with [G.M.] Joe [Douglas], he has made it very clear the vision for the football team."
