“He plays with a violent play-style. He’s a wrecking ball.” Steelers HVC Mike Tomlin worried about Jaguars’ Travis Taylor

Travis Taylor of the Jaguars can cause mayhem on the park and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says records are misleading.

The lyrics, “he came in like a wrecking ball,” springs to mind and while only posting 2.5 sacks this season, he creates plenty of pressure.

Tomlin is well aware of the carnage Walker can wreak telling John Shipley of SI.com, “We’ve got to do a really good job of managing their bigs (players).

The Steelers entertain the Jacksonville team this weekend and will be banking on their offensive linemen to keep the marauding Taylor and Josh Allen (seven sacks).

Taylor was the number one overall pick in the 2022 draft and is highly regarded by friend and foe alike.

“The edge guys really capture your attention. Josh Allen and Walker, in particular as a tandem, wreak a lot of havoc. I think often times sacks don’t represent the havoc that Walker causes.

“I felt that way in an analysis of him leading up to the draft. He’s just a guy who wrecks a lot of things. He plays with a violent playstyle. He’s a wrecking ball.”

Both teams have picked up four wins this season with the Steelers at 4-2 and the Jaguars at 5-2.
