“I love what he’s brought to comedy…” Colorado HC Deion Sanders in Response to Kenan Thompson’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ Impersonation

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion "Prime Time" Sanders has taken the country by storm since becoming the face of the team’s football program. Sanders was already an iconic figure in the sports world before becoming a head coach, now that has only been magnified.

When he was younger, Sanders was one of the rare professional athletes who went pro in multiple sports. He had a nine-year career in the MLB in addition to an illustrious 14-year NFL career that earned him a bid to the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

To this day, Sanders is the only professional athlete to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. Now, he has been tasked with reviving the Buffaloes college football program and has been nothing short of remarkable in the process.

His impact on the culture at Colorado combined with his inviting and outspoken personality has made him a focal point of sports news/media cycles since becoming the team’s head coach.

It has gotten to the point where NBC’s Kenan Thompson did an impersonation of Coach Prime on Saturday Night Live during one of their infamous sports parody skits.

While some people may take offense to the way Thompson portrayed Sanders, the head coach seemed unphased. He even went as far as calling himself a "fan" of Thompson’s work.

"I’m a fan of Kenan [Thompson]… I love him. I love what he’s brought to comedy…" Sanders stated in response to being asked about his thoughts on the matter.

It’s great to see Sanders take moments like these in stride, even when Thompson made fun of the Buffaloes recently blowing a 29-point lead against the Stanford Cardinals.
