New York Jets See Record Revenues Despite Aaron Rodgers’ Absence, Prepare for Season Ticket Price Increase

The New York Jets are experiencing a surprising boost in their playoff hopes, and this unexpected development is also benefiting the team financially.

Despite star quarterback Aaron Rodgers being sidelined due to a torn Achilles, the Jets’ home games at MetLife Stadium have been incredibly successful.

Ticket and game day revenues have reached record levels for the Jets, according to team president Hymie Elhai.

While specific sales figures have not been disclosed, merchandise sales at MetLife Stadium saw a 20% increase compared to last season during the first three games, and concessions were up by 9.3%.

Online merchandise sales have also skyrocketed, with a nearly 200% increase.

These remarkable numbers can be attributed, in part, to a new initiative launched by the Jets in 2022. The team aimed to increase stadium attendance before kickoff, resulting in an average entry rate of over 90% for the first three games.

This strategy proved successful in attracting fans and boosting overall revenue.

Looking ahead, the Jets plan to raise season ticket prices by an average of 10% for the next season. Despite his absence, Aaron Rodgers remains an influential figure for the team.

He is currently under contract for 2024 and expresses his desire to return this season. Elhai believes that Rodgers’ impact and presence continue to unite the team, even when he is physically away.

Aaron’s impact and influence on the team has been present, and it’s helped become a unifying thing,” Elhai said. “So, even when he’s been away, he’s not really away.”

The anticipation surrounding Rodgers’ debut with the Jets, combined with a challenging schedule against strong opponents, has led to the three most-watched games of the NFL season involving the team.

On a local level, the Jets are also experiencing a surge in viewership for their team-produced digital content.
