The Rangers have never won the World Series in their 53-year history, starting out as the Washington Senators from 1961 to 71, before settling in Texas as the Rangers in 1972 to the present.
The team play out of Arlington and boasts three AL pennants including their thrilling 4-3 Series win over the Astros.
They have earned seven divisional titles, the latest coming in 2016.
With two wild card playoffs, including 2023, the team is playing out of their skin.
The Texas outfit finished second in the AL West this season with a 90-72 record.
In their first playoff game if the season they defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0, then breezed past the Baltimore Orioles sweeping the Series 3-0 before winning one of the most competitive semi-final series, triumphing against the Astros in the series decider.
What makes this season’s World Series appearance so rare is that the Rangers have had losing seasons in the previous six years.
In 2015, and 2016 they topped their conference only to bottle the playoffs losing both times to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The team is captained by shortstop and second baseman Marcus Semien.
The two time All Star previously played for the Blue Jays, Oakland A’s and the Chicago White Sox.
Rangers GM Chris Young, a former pitcher for five MLB teams has done terrific job in assembling a team of players that played above their potential.
He is a World Series champion winning in 2015 as a player for the Mets, who defeated the Kansas City Royals.
