The Chicago Bears are reportedly considering a potential trade for defensive end Chase Young, according to a report by Mike Florio.

Young, who will become a free agent after this season, is in need of a major payday.
The Bears, on the other hand, are projected to have the most salary cap space in the league during the offseason, giving them the ability to take on a long-term contract.
Florio mentions that while the trade for Young is a long-term play, it might be more likely for the Washington Football Team to trade Montez Sweat, another edge rusher, at the trade deadline.
However, if the Bears were able to pull off a trade for Young, it would significantly improve their struggling defensive line.
Last season, the Bears had the fewest sacks in the NFL, recording a mere 20 sacks. This season hasn’t been much better, as they currently have the second-fewest sacks in the league with only 10.
In fact, they have just one more sack than the last-place Houston Texans.
The lack of pressure generated by the Bears’ defense has had a negative impact on their overall performance.
They are currently allowing an average of 26.9 points per game through seven weeks, ranking 28th in the league.
If the Bears were able to acquire Chase Young through a trade, it would undoubtedly strengthen their pass rush and help alleviate the defensive struggles they have been facing.
With their ample amount of cap space, the Bears have the financial flexibility to make such a move.
