According to Pro Football Talk, Jones will miss the game against the New York Jets as well as the following game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Although the quarterback has not yet been cleared following his neck injury, head coach Brian Daboll has stated that Jones is gradually recovering.
This isn"t the first time the quarterback has suffered an injury, as he had previously suffered a neck injury and missed more than five finals games in the 2021 season. Fortunately, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll has stated unequivocally that he will definitely play this season.
As per ESPN, Daboll said, "It"s a different injury,"
“I think when you see other guys who have similar situations as mine and they are able to progress and come back, I"m following a similar timeline to that. That is kind of the optimism, and yeah, it"s a different injury than last time."
Till the time Jones is recovering, in his place, the Giants have chosen Tyrod Taylor as their quarterback, who has been performing impressively. Nevertheless, Jones" comeback is highly anticipated by the Blue Squad, as they have signed him to a contract that guarantees him $36 million in 2024.
Taylor also shared, "I feel comfortable in our offense,"
"I feel comfortable with the playmakers that we have outside. It"s up to me, obviously, to get the ball to those guys, so just trying to spread it around as much as possible, and a lot of those guys create plays."
"That"s up to Coach,"
"Obviously, if [Jones] is healthy, he"s a captain on our team, captain of our team, a leader on the offense, and I am here to support in any way that I can."
