A season ending Achilles tendon injury a major setback to the Vikings as Kirk Cousins latest victim of the dreaded snap

The curse of the Achilles has struck again with Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins the latest high profile quarterback to have their season upended.

The Vikings 24-10 win over the Packers was soured with the news of the season-ending injury, as the team moves to 4-4.

Cousins threw a game high 274 yards for two touchdowns before limping off in the last quarter.

The injury was confirmed by head coach Kevin O’Connell and is likely to be season ending.

Week 8 was not kind to quarterbacks, with Matthew Stafford (thumb), Kenny Pickett (rib) Tyrod Taylor (rib) and Desmond Ridder (concussion) all going down injured.

Cousins was scrambling in the pocket early in the fourth quarter when he dropped, while being tackled by defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

He was replaced by rookie Jaren Hall.

There could be a sudden burst of interest ahead of the Halloween trade deadline, and the Vikings will have to move fast, and hard to get an experienced player on the roster.
