Theo Epstein is a legend in baseball, spending 9 seasons at both of the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs and when he speaks people listen.
He currently works for the MLB as a consultant after highly successful gigs in the front office of both clubs.
Speaking on the hiring of Craig Breslow as the new CBO of the Red Sox, he said, “Craig is one of the most impressive and impactful baseball people I’ve ever met. He combines a powerful intellect and deep pitching expertise with a real understanding of players and fearless approach to problem solving.
“With his mind, work ethic, and character, there is no limit to what he can accomplish in this game.”
Breslow spent 12 seasons in the MLB as a pitcher and was a World Series winner in 2013 with the Chicago team.
He plied his trade across seven MLB teams in his career including double stints at the Twins and Indians.
He made the transition to the front office at the Cubs, before a move now to the Red Sox.
He studied molecular biophysics and biochemistry at Yale and is one of the smartest men in the league.
Epstein played a major role in the Red Sox breaking the Curse of the Bambino in 2004, fittingly beating the Yankees.
