Kirk Cousins Injury Report: Expected recovery period, potential replacements, and more

The quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, Kirk Cousins, sustained an injury during the team’s match against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. The quarterback was unfortunately ruled out of the game and was wheeled.

The Green squad was defeated by the Vikings and the concluding score was 24-10. The Vikings have classified the injury as an ankle injury; things might seem problematic for the Vikings. However, in turn for Cousins, Jaren Hall has joined the squad.

According to Kevin Seifert of ESPN, “Joined @JFowlerESPN and @Jordan_Reid to examine the Kirk Cousins injury from all angles. What they might do this week, what could come in the following weeks and whether this has all, once and for all, clarified their long-term plan at the position.”

So far, Kirk Cousins has been playing an incredible game and due to the injury sustained, he might be out of the game for a while. When the talented quarterback departed the game, the Vikings were leading the Green Bay Packers.

According to ESPN, head coach Kevin O’Connell also expressed, “Every single player in our locker room is thinking about our leader and our guy,”

Nevertheless, the quarterback’s injury was non-contact and the potential way this is being figured out is an Achilles injury. The severity of non-contact injuries is typically very high, and with time it will be known how damaging the injury is for the Cousins.

He was in trade talks earlier but chose to remain with the Minnesota Vikings. In games to date, Cousins has had 2,057 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions.
