“Trade incoming” – Fans speculate on Kyler Murray’s future in Arizona as HC Jonathan Gannon confirms Josh Dobbs will start against Cleveland

Following Sunday’s defeat to the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has made it official that quarterback Josh Dobbs will once again take the field as the starting quarterback for the upcoming game against the Cleveland Browns.

This decision was announced by ESPN’s trusted source, Adam Schefter.

Dobbs, 28, has been stepping in for Kyler Murray since the beginning of the season, as Murray continues to recover from a torn ACL he sustained in 2022.

Despite the team’s challenging 1-7 start, Gannon has remained committed to sticking with Dobbs, and his choice to continue with Dobbs as the starting QB caught the attention of Cardinals fans.

While Clayton Tune serves as the backup quarterback, Gannon confirmed that the team has never considered replacing Dobbs with Tune, sticking with Dobbs throughout the season so far.

As for Kyler Murray, Gannon mentioned that Murray is still being evaluated on a day-to-day basis in terms of his recovery progress.

Although Murray was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and continued with that designation throughout the week, he was ultimately listed as “doubtful” ahead of the game against the Ravens.

This decision led to Dobbs getting the opportunity to start once again, extending Murray’s absence for at least another week.

Despite the Cardinals’ challenging season, Dobbs has managed to perform decently in his role as the starting quarterback.

He has thrown for a total of 1,361 yards, completing six touchdowns and three interceptions.

Dobbs has also shown his versatility on the field, rushing for two additional touchdowns.

In the most recent game against the Ravens, Dobbs demonstrated his skills by amassing 208 passing yards, securing two touchdowns, two interceptions, and scoring another touchdown through running.
