In Game 3 of the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers’ power hitter Adolis García had to exit the game during the eighth inning due to an injury on his left side, which occurred as a result of a swing. Following the incident, García was taken to the hospital for an MRI.

Rangers’ manager, Bruce Bochy, expressed cautious optimism regarding García’s condition, mentioning that they’ll have a clearer picture of the situation after further evaluation on the following day. The injury occurred as García was running out of the batter’s box during his flyout against Luis Frías. Upon reaching first base, he bent over and placed both hands on his knees, clearly in discomfort.

In response to García’s exit from the game, Travis Jankowski stepped in to replace him in right field. This change came as the Rangers were holding a 3-0 lead against the Diamondbacks.

Throughout the postseason, García has been a standout performer for the Rangers, leading the team with a batting average of .323. He has also hit eight home runs and set a major league record with 22 RBIs, surpassing the previous record held by David Freese with the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals. In the World Series, García has contributed with a 3-for-10 performance, including two RBIs, which featured a crucial 11th-inning home run off Miguel Castro, securing a 6-5 victory for Texas in the Series opener.

His impressive postseason stats continue as he previously batted .357 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in the AL Championship Series against the Houston Astros.
