Vikings new quarterback Josh Dobbs may start for the Minnesota team in week 9, continuing an impressive record of starts (beginning) at the Cardinals this season

Quarterback Josh Dobbs, who started eight straight games for the Cardinals this season is off to Minnesota in a trade deal.

Dobbs will probably step right into the fray with Vikings QB Kirk Cousins out for the rest of the season with a serious Achilles injury.

Dobbs could 0lay 9 straight for Minnesota, meaning a 17-game season, after being traded from the Browns to Arizona at the beginning of the season.

Starting quarterbacks are not on the chopping block mid-season, and while not entirely unprecedented, it is rather incongruous.

The last starting QB to have been traded at this stage was Kerry Collins back in 1998, after starting four games for the Giants before being shipped off and playing seven in the same season for the Saints.

Dobbs was signed in the 2017 draft by the Steelers in the fourth round and has spent time at six NFL teams, with the Vikings jaunt set to be his seventh.

He has made 10 career starts, all consecutively in regular season play and could be in line for his 11th straight when the Vikings line up against the Falcons in week 9.

The Jaguars are in definite playoff contention going 6-2 this season and topping the AFC South.
