Chicago Bears Part Ways with Running Backs Coach David Walker, Citing Non-Football Related Reasons

Significant changes were made recently by the Las Vegas Raiders and now the latest squad to follow are the Chicago Bears, who have reportedly made changes in their coaching staff.

The Chicago Bears have fired David Walker, who is their running backs coach. The major change has been reported by The Athletic. Walker has more than 25 years of experience in this field. He has spent eight years in the NFL.

However, according to Pro Football Talk, the study further reports that the team’s human resources department was involved and his leaving is not related to matters related to the game.

It was in 2022 that Walker joined the Chicago Bears squad, with Matt Eberflus serving as the head coach. He formerly worked as the running backs coach for the Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions. With the Lions, he served from 2016-2018 and with the Colts from 2011-2014.

The Chicago Bears squad has seen this before as well. Alan Williams, their defensive coordinator, had left the position during the initial period of the season. Subsequently, it was Eberflus who took over as their coordinator.
