Head coach Jim Harbaugh and the University of Michigan football program are being investigated by the NCAA for a scandal regarding illicit scouting and sign-stealing. Unfortunately, this comes at a time when the Michigan Wolverines are the No. 3 ranked team in the country and are currently undefeated (8-0).

However, if the allegations are true, there is no place for compromising the integrity of the game. To make matters worse, a picture has been circulating on social media of Michigan staff member Connor Stallions, who was not only present at the game between Michigan State and Central Michigan on Sept. 1 but was on the sideline disguised in Central Michigan gear.

Despite this happening two months ago, it only adds fuel to the fire that is the ongoing investigation. Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain was asked about the matter following the team’s game on Tuesday, to which he acknowledged he is aware of the photo floating around.

“Our people are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of it… I certainly don’t condone it in any way, shape, or form… There’s no place in football for that,” McElwain stated in light of the situation.

It had been previously reported that Stallions was purchasing tickets to games of Michigan opponents to enable his sign-stealing process, but sneaking onto another team’s sideline takes things to a whole new level.

As of now, there is no indication that Harbaugh was aware and/or involved in Stallions’ operation, but he could be held accountable as the head coach of one of the most prestigious college football programs in the nation.
