It turns out that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves can be just as terrifying off the ice as he is on it. While Reaves got an early start on Halloween, showcasing his Snoop Dogg costume a little over a week ago, he continued to embrace the spooky spirit with an even more hair-raising ensemble the second time around.
In a video posted by the Leafs, the enforcer had his teammates jumping out of their skin on Monday. Dressed head-to-toe as Michael Myers, the iconic horror character, Reaves, typically known for his intimidating presence on the ice, surprised his fellow players by hiding behind a cardboard box as they arrived at the rink.
The look on Marner’s face 🤣😰

One after another, teammates walked in, only to be met with a spine-chilling scare. Toronto’s captain, John Tavares, was Reaves’ first target, although he displayed remarkable composure, showing minimal reaction. Nevertheless, Tavares later admitted that the surprise “scared the s**t” out of him.
Meanwhile, fellow Leafs forward Auston Matthews managed to evade Reaves’ attempt at frightening him by using a different rink entrance.
One of the most entertaining reactions came when Reaves went all out to startle newcomer Max Domi, who reacted by screaming and falling out of the box, fully committing to the scare. “That was the one!” Domi exclaimed as he and his teammates shared a good laugh over the prank.
The last time Leafs players had such a good Halloween scare was in 2018 when an inflatable version of Carlton, their mascot, was placed inside Scotiabank Arena alongside a sign inviting them to take pictures with “Inflatable Carlton.” The unsuspecting players were taken by surprise as Carlton flapped his arms and lunged at them in the hallway.
With their adrenaline pumping, the Leafs, who currently hold a 5-2-1 record, are gearing up to face the Los Angeles Kings at home on Tuesday night.
