CBS Sports’ Senior NFL Columnist Pete Prisco has made a bold call regarding the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coaching vacancy.

Prisco, a seasoned sports writer and analyst with over 30 years of experience, suggests that Deion Sanders aka the “Prime Time,” could be the answer to the Raiders’ coaching conundrum.

I’ll throw a name out there. Ready? Prime Time! How about Deion Sanders? He could be an NFL head coach. It’s not that complicated,” Pete Prisco stated on NFL on CBS.

Bursting onto the football scene in 1989 as the fifth overall pick in the NFL Draft, Deion Sanders played 14 seasons in the NFL with five different teams-Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and Baltimore Ravens.

In 2011, the Pro Football Hall of Fame welcomed Deion Sanders into its hallowed halls.

Also, he ranks second in NFL history with 25.1 yards per return.

Prisco’s surprising proposal comes on the heels of the unexpected shakeup at the Raiders’ headquarters.

During the NFL trade deadline, Raiders owner Mark Davis made the drastic decision to terminate head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday night, Mark Davis disclosed the reasoning behind his decision.

According to Davis, the duo of McDaniels and Ziegler was let go because he was particularly dissatisfied with the team’s offensive performance.

Following a loss to the Detroit Lions, the Raiders ranked 29th in the NFL in points scored and dead last in rushing yards per game.

In the absence of Josh McDaniels, the Raiders have entrusted the interim coaching role to Antonio Pierce, a relatively inexperienced NFL coach.

Prior to last year, Pierce had never been a part of an NFL coaching staff, although he brings nine years of playing experience to the table.

The upcoming games against the New York Giants and the New York Jets present an opportunity for Antonio Pierce to quickly make a name for himself in Las Vegas.
