New York City is famous for its towering skyscrapers, and Mitchell Robinson has his sights set on making a name for himself just like those iconic buildings.
Robinson has been a steady presence for the New York Knicks, establishing himself as the team"s starting center. Over his five seasons with the Knicks, he has averaged 8.2 points and 7.9 rebounds. However, in the previous season, Robinson expressed frustration about his role on the team, particularly his absence from the finishing lineup. He candidly stated that he was tired of feeling like he was on the court just to provide cardio exercise in a social media outburst.
To address this, Robinson dedicated his offseason to improving his game. He worked with Marcell Scott, a highly regarded basketball trainer known for coaching top-tier players like Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers. Scott spoke highly of Robinson"s progress during this offseason and hinted at a broader skill set for the seven-foot center. He mentioned, "Dam 23 is not even much a lob threat anymore what ever happened to rewarding ur bigs sometimes for busting their ass. its a lot of ME, ME ball in NY !! GN"

Scott noted that Robinson is not just a player who excels at catching alley-oop passes anymore, and he touched upon the need to recognize the efforts of big men who work hard on the court. Scott also suggested that there might be a bit too much individualism in New York Knicks" style of play.
