Breaking: NFL has officially reinstated WR Martavis Bryant after he was suspended for nearly five years

Martavis Bryant, who was selected in the 2014 NFL Draft in the fourth round and was the 118th pick, has been reportedly reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The talented wide receiver faced suspension in 2018 from the NFL.

As per Tom Pelissero, “Veteran WR Martavis Bryant, who last played in the NFL in 2018, has been reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell and is drawing interest from teams, per his agent James Peterson. Bryant, 31, has been training for a comeback and played in the XFL last summer.”

Bryant was with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2014 to 2014 and showed incredible talent. In the initial two seasons, the wide receiver collected 14 touchdowns and 1,314 receiving yards.

Bryant received his first suspension, which consisted of a four-game ban for infringing the league’s substance abuse policy. At that time, he was in his second season with the Steelers.

It was in March 2016 that Bryant received a full-fledged suspension from the NFL, which was for the whole season. The reason was the same as before for violating. However, he was restored in April 2017 and he rejoined the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was absent for the entire 2016 season and in the 2017 season, he garnered three touchdowns and 603 receiving yards in fifteen games. In 2018, the wide receiver was with the Oakland Raiders; however, he was let go by the Raiders squad after a few months and then within a few days, he signed again with the squad. Later, he faced “indefinite suspension”.

In 2018, he suffered from a knee injury and subsequently, he couldn’t play further in the season. He was later suspended for breaking the rules of “conditional reinstatement”.

Despite his absence from the NFL, the wide receiver has continued his involvement in the sport. Bryant joined the Canadian Football League and was with the Toronto Argonauts in 2021 and the next year he was with the Edmonton Elks.

He was later suspended when he was with the Argonauts as he failed to show up before the commencement of training camp. With the Elks, he signed but was let go within a month. He later joined the FCF Beasts, which is a professional indoor football team and now he is with the Vegas Vipers.
