Aaron Rodgers has proved time and again that he is almost superhuman, but analyst Joe Buck does not buy into the theory that he can make an appearance this season.
Rodgers, as always, is ahead of his rehab after suffering a round Achilles tendon in the New York’s team opener.
The Buck stops here analyst was chatting to The Michael Kay Show Monday afternoon ahead of the Jets’ second Monday Night Football appearance, against the Chargers.
Kay could not help spouting the most eagerly anticipated question in New York football, when asked Buck if he’s “hungrily guzzling the Kool-Aid” that Rodgers will return this season.
“I think the odds are against it,” Buck admitted. “I’m not guzzling any Kool-Aid. I’m not. I think that you’re a long way away and I’m not putting limits on anybody, especially a man who believes in attention and all the stuff that he talks about,” said Buck.
Rodgers is anything if not determined and will be desperate to make Buck eat his words, but reality is reality, and an Achilles injury takes a certain amount if time to heal.
“I think we’re a long way away from seeing him being able to move laterally, have a 300lb guy land on him, being pushed awkwardly against that tendon,” Buck continued.
Can Rodgers Buck the trend and help the 4-4 Jets to seal a playoff Burts come week 16 or 17?
We will have to wait and see. Don’t put anything past Rodgers though.
